Quiet, Observant, Clever

Photography has been a huge part of my life for close to 30 years. When I was 8 I assisted a family member (who is a fine art photographer) with a photography project on a trip to France. After that I became interested in the process and gear involved in the art. I continued practicing and studying photography through school eventually culminating in a master's degree in photography. When I enter someone's life as a photographer I think of myself as a documentarian more than anything else. I want to be a fly on the wall and have as small of an affect on my subjects as possible. 

Being an ally to the queer community means recognizing that everyone's love is different and no one should be judged or oppressed because their love is different from "the norm". I'm raising two kiddos and hope that I can teach them to be accepting of everyone they meet.
